After being leaked earlier in the week, the new PowerColor RX 480 DEVIL has been pictured again. This time, we’re getting a much more high-quality picture along with more details. Despite being only a mainstream card, it looks like the RX 480 getting the full treatment from PowerColor.
Dubbed the RX 480 Red Devil, the card sports a massive triple-fan cooling solution. The new picture shows off the massive size stretching to 2 full PCIe slot lengths. A full-length backplate along completes the picture. Power is provided by an 8pin PCIe power connector. Given these hefty arrangements, overclocking shouldn’t be limited except by the GPU itself. Of course, the card features the full 8GB of VRAM over the 256bit bus.
Speaking of clockspeeds, PowerColor is intending users to push into the 1400 MHz range with ease. As we’ve seen with various samples, the RX 480 is mostly limited by power and cooling when it comes to pushing the GPU. Solving these two issues should allow the Red Devil to speed ahead. PowerColor is also setting their factory overclock pretty high, reportedly above 1350 MHz. Hopefully, we’ll get more of these details and the price on July 11 when PowerColor ends their contest and likely launches the Red Devil.
