PowerColor Unveils The Radeon RX 470 Red Dragon V2

Not so long ago, PowerColour officially released the Red Dragon RX 470 which incorporates a unique backplate and dual-BIOS functionality. Even though the card targeted an affordable price point, it might have just been too much for certain budgets. Thankfully, the company has unveiled a cheaper alternative entitled the RX 470 Red Dragon V2. This particular GPU opts for a single fan cooling solution, two copper heat pipes which make direct contact with the core and a relatively large heatsink. Also, the heatsink effectively cools the VRM and MOSFETs.

On another note, the PowerColor Radeon RX 470 Dragon VR has a factory overclock up to 1206MHz and 4GB GDDR5 memory running at 6600MHz. As you might expect, the GPU has 2048 streamer processors, 128 TMUs and 32 ROPSs. Furthermore, the GPU requires a single 6-pin PCI-E connector. Connectivity-wise, the product has three DisplayPorts, HDMI and a dual-link DVI-D port. Unlike the company’s previous release, the card opts has a neutral design and should be suitable for those who prefer something more subtle. In terms of pricing, the PowerColour Radeon RX 470 Red Dragon v2 should cost around the $170 mark and become available rather soon. As always, we’ve requested a review sample which should arrive relatively soon.

Are you a fan of PowerColour’s new RX 470 model?
