Predator Hermes RGB 32GB 6800 MHz DDR5 Review

A Closer Look

The design looks stunning, with lots of aggressive lines and angles stacked on top of each other, giving them a lot of depth. If you like a cleaner look, this certainly isn’t going to be for you, but I think they look pretty striking, especially with that matte white finish.

There’s a honeycomb design printed onto the side, as well as either the number 5 (I’m guessing to signify DDR5) and a small predator logo on the side of the heat sink.

On the rear, the design is much the same, except in place of the Predator logo you’ll find a small specifications sticker.

The modules come with a thick and deep lightbar on the top, which is exposed at a few points on the sides of the memory, as well as down the spine.

Down the spine, there is a small Hermes logo on one side and two overhanging sections of the aluminium, but there’s still plenty of room to show off some RGB goodies.

They feature a black PCB, which features a durable 10-layer design. While the heatsinks themselves are only fitted with adhesive, they feel very robust and quite heavy too, as the heatsinks themselves are quite large.

Overall though, the design looks pretty cool, and while I’m sure the black or the grey versions also look good, I’m very happy we have these white ones in for testing, as that’s what I would have picked.

It was not an easy task taking these apart, but with the heatsinks and thermal pads removed, you can see there are eight memory chips in total, with four on each side.

The Hermes uses hand-picked H5CG48AGBD Cs from SKhynix,

Being DDR5, the power controller is on board, and this came with a much larger thermal pad over it, ensuring it is also cooled by the large heatsinks.
