With Prey’s release approaching on May 5th, Bethesda has released a demo for PlayStation and Xbox one, letting players try out the opening hour for any player worldwide. Bethesda has also revealed directly from their blog the system requirements needed for all systems to run the game.
For the PlayStation 4, a free space of 42GB is recommended. Prey takes up approximately 38.2 to 39.5 gigabytes and a patch will be available on launch day, which will require additional space. For the Xbox One, 38 GB of free space is required. The title takes up approximately 34.9 to 35.7 gigabytes and like in the PlayStation 4, a patch will be available on launch day which will require additional space. Allow for some variances in size due to region and languages included. Future patches and DLC will increase the free space requirements. The maximum amount of space for save files allocated to the title is 1 gigabyte, with at least 44.05 megabytes of space required to create the profile on first boot, and each save file requiring 10.49 megabytes of space for the PlayStation 4 while for the Xbox one, file sizes ranging from 391.8 kilobytes to 197 megabytes might take up the save file space, depending on the type and total play time.
For the PC, a minimum Intel i5-2400 or AMD FX-8320 is required for the CPU, with a GTX 6602GB or an AMD Radeon 7850 2GB for the GPU. An Intel i7-2600K or an AMD FX-8350 is recommended, however, as well as a GeForce GTX 970 4GB or an AMD R9 290 4GB to run with good graphics. A minimum 8GB of memory is good, but 16GB of memory is recommended. Some advanced PC graphics settings that are not in the console include:
Pre-load times for the PlayStation 4 begins at midnight by territory on April 29 for Europe, while it is midnight EST on April 28 for America. For Xbox one, it is at midnight EST on April 27 and on the PC, it is on May 3.
Global unlock time for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is on May 5 midnight by territory while the PC is on May 4, 9PM PDT-May 5, midnight EDT.
