Even more information has come out regarding Lenovo’s Legion GO handheld which includes some more detailed specs alongside the reveal date and the pricing for the handheld, unfortunately, it is looking on the pricier side.
Lenovo Legion Go Pricing Revealed
Again the information on this console has been shared by WindowsReport.com and involves a leaked press release that confirms previous rumours as well as the spec sheet, pricing and reveal date. The details have stated that we will see a full reveal of the handheld console on the 1st of September so only a few short days away on this coming Friday when all will be officially revealed. Alongside this date is the pricing which is said to be $799 placing it $100 more than the ASUS ROG Ally which it will be directly competing with considering its use of the Ryzen Z1 chip.
Specs
So how do the specs on this console look with their $100 premium over the ROG Ally, well First of all it uses the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip but it is paired up with 16GB of LPDDR5 at 7500MHz which is faster than the Ally’s 6400 MHz providing some improvements. The Legion Go also appears to offer up to 1TB of M.2 Storage with a 2242 form factor rather than 2230. The display is higher quality with an 8.8″ 2560×1600 144Hz display whilst the Ally has a 7″ 1920×1080 120Hz display.
Finally, the Legion Go looks to offer faster charging with a 2-cell 49.2WHr Sper Rapid Charge with a 65W charging brick. So there are several things that bring that price tag up although the higher resolution display at just 8.8″ does seem a bit pointless as 1080p looks just fine at that size meaning the performance may suffer considerably from the higher resolution. Another downside is that the handheld is on the heavier side weighing in at 854g, around 200g more than both the Ally at 608g and the Steam Deck at 669g.
Lenovo Legion Glasses
The other major release alongside this handheld is the Legion Glasses which will complement the handheld and the “joy-con” design of its controllers. These glasses use a micro-OLED display with a 1920×1080 resolution per eye. They connect via USB-C and feature built-in speakers as well as a prescription lens frame anti-slip adapter. These glasses are compatible with Windows, Android or macOS and can be used standalone without the Legion GO but they do work seamlessly with the handheld’s controllers. Additionally, the price of these glasses is the downside at $499 so it is quite a niche product.
With all of the information out in the open already, i wouldn’t be surprised if Lenovo just sent a press release that contained a photo and followed off with “you already know everything.”
