Two days ago we saw a rumour with the ASUS ROG ALLY’s Z1 Extreme spec being priced at $699, now if you’re running out of pinches of salt I’d grab some more as another rumour is suggesting the standard variant to be priced at $599, just $100 less than the extreme.
Again this leak is from SnoopyTech who has today rumoured the cheaper AMD Z1 variant to be priced at $599. If this is the case then users can expect to be paying $100 less to use a 6-core APU instead of the Extreme 8 Core, as well as the internal storage to be cut in half from 512 to 256GB. At the moment all the other specs of the console appear to be identical between the two units with 16GB of LPDDR5 and the 120Hz 1080p display.
For Just $100 more you may be getting almost up to 30 FPS more in some games as well as double the storage which is a smaller price increase than the Steam Deck which sees a larger increase between each of its three models. Each Steam Deck upgrade only offers faster storage and several accessories rather than an entirely different chip. As this is just a rumour we’ll take it lightly but we will know more on May 11th when ASUS reveal more information regarding these handhelds.
