Ubisoft has announced a new release window for the highly anticipated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake during the Ubisoft Forward show. Despite a brief mention, this update proves the game is still in development.
The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is now slated for release in 2026. This update was unexpected, especially since Ubisoft previously stated the game wouldn’t be featured at the show.
The game has faced numerous challenges since its announcement. Initially developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, it was scheduled for release in January 2021. However, after receiving heavy criticism for its graphics, the game was delayed twice and eventually disappeared from public view.
In 2022, development was handed over to Ubisoft Montreal, where it was essentially rebooted. By May 2023, it was still in the conception stage. Recently, Ubisoft Toronto joined the project, but the publisher has advised not to expect further updates this year.
