PRISM Whistleblower Has Evidence That The USA Has Hacked China Since 2009

Edward Snowden is today a world icon in the spotlight after leaking details of the top secret American PRISM surveillance program. He reiterated the sentiment that the USA is “hacking everyone everywhere” today in an interview with the South China Morning Post. Apparently the USA has conducted over 61,000 global hacking operations of which China and Hong Kong have been regular targets since 2009.

“We hack network backbones – like huge internet routers, basically – that give us access to the communications of hundreds of thousands of computers without having to hack every single one”

The evidence he has doesn’t prove that the USA has been hacking the Chinese military but does prove that they have been hacking Chinese universities, public officials, businesses and so on. He stated that hundreds of the hacking operations were targeted at the Chinese and at Hong Kong.

We have seen the cyber security war between China and the USA spark off in recent times with revelations that the NSA had a special “TAO” complex that had been hacking China for 15 years, and since both Chinese and U.S government officials had thrown many accusations back and forth.

U.S President Barack Obama and General Secretary of the Chinese Community part Xi Jinping recently had a meeting where cyber security was pretty high up the agenda. Both countries are worried the cyber war might impact economic relations but neither side are worried enough to want to back down.

What are your thoughts on the USA-China “cyber war”?
