Prison Architect Breaks Out of Early Access on October 6th

Prison Architect has been an integral component of Valve’s Early Access programme for an astonishingly long, three years and received a warm reception from Steam users. Introversion Software’s highly-captivating Prison simulator is now set for an official release on October 6th. The studio will showcase a whole host of new features during EGX, a UK-based gaming expo on September 26th. This will allow players to have a find-hand experience of the latest build. However, if you can’t attend, the event will be livestreamed.

Statistically, Prison Architect is already a roaring success and sold millions of copies. It will be fascinating to see how the retail build differs from technical previews and the sales impact from exiting the Early Access distribution method. While many games have struggled through Early Access, it seems like Prison Architect is a fine example of what can happen when everything goes right.

Here is a brief synopsis of the game directly from the developer:

“In Prison Architect, players build and manage their own maximum security prison, built to hold the most hardened of criminals. Since the launch of the alpha, Prison Architect has gone from strength to strength, seeing high praise from all manner of gaming press and eventually going on to gain a player base in the millions. Prison Architect is a gripping new take on the well-worn simulation genre, having enraptured gamers worldwide with a unique premise and engrossing narrative.”
