Prolimatech Panther CPU Cooler Review
Ryan Martin / 11 years ago
Prolimatech’s Panther CPU cooler is currently coming to market at about £32.99 making it a mid-range solution in terms of pricing. At this price the Prolimatech Panther is a decent buy for the consumers considering you get a competent level of performance, a nice looking cooler, solid mounting kit and most importantly 100% RAM compatibility. Yet Prolimatech’s Panther does leave something to be desired in terms of cooling performance and I really feel that it should offer more. Quite simply there are a lot of similarly priced, or lower priced, CPU coolers out there that trump the Prolimatech Panther on performance – though the Prolimatech Panther does still do pretty well all things considered. Its 100% RAM compatibility does go some way to correcting for this marginal performance deficiency and to the average user, a degree here nor there doesn’t really make that much difference. However, to the enthusiast you may feel a tad short changed.
Pros
- 100% RAM compatibility
- Good mounting system
- Solid build quality
- Full tube of high quality thermal paste
- Fan clips for Push-Pull
Cons
- Somewhat Average performance
- Can get better performing solutions for the money
eTeknix says: Prolimatech’s Panther is a decent CPU cooler if you want 100% RAM compatibility, to have good cooling performance capable of taming an overclocked CPU and you are on a relatively tight budget. Yet we can see from our testing that there are clearly better performing options out there for the money. We have very few bad things to say about the Prolimatech Panther and I certainly wouldn’t advise anyone against buying it but as far as I am concerned the Prolimatech Panther is only average.
We would like to say a big thank you to Overclockers UK and CaseKing for providing us with this review sample.
