PS4 Games Made By Sony Will Cost 59.99 USD/Euros

According to a statement made by Sony to ShackNews the launch pricing of Sony’s PlayStation 4 games for their next generation console will be $59.99/€59.99. This only applies to PS4 games published by Sony themselves, other games published by other publishers will vary in price. That said with Sony setting the standard pricing it is likely that other publishers are more likely to match it or go higher, than they are to price below it.

For the launch Sony is currently expected to be publishing four games which will all cost €/$59.99 each, they are:

  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Driveclub
  • Knack
  • Infamous: Second Son

Currently, Amazon USA is listing these four games for their updated price of $59.99 while Amazon UK still has these games stuck at £54.99 awaiting updated pricing and Amazon Germany is in a similar boat with a €99 launch price awaiting updated Sony pricing. Given currently exchange rates a price of £54.99 or £49.99 in the UK seems highly likely while we know we will see €59.99 on Amazon Germany soon. For comparison typical new Xbox 360 and PS3 games get released with RRPs of around £39.99-£44.99 depending on the game so PS4 games are definitely being priced higher to the tune of about 20-35%. Though we should see them all come down in price after the launch mania has passed.
