PS4 World of Tanks Looks Better Than PC Version!

Ever since our generation of consoles has launched, gamers have made comparisons between them and PCs in terms of graphical fidelity. Most of the time, PC versions of games have come out on top, but this time it’s different. According to Wargaming, the PS4 version of the game will feature better graphics than the PC version. While the game will run at 1080p, FPS will, unfortunately, be limited to 30.

In the words of Marketing Product Manager Max Chuvalov, the PS4 version of World of Tanks will be “more sophisticated”. According to Chuvalov, the reason why the PC version is held back is due to the user space. On PC, about 60-70% of gamers are stuck on low to mid-tier PCs, limiting what is possible. On the other hand, it does show that with better optimization, World of Tanks could probably be made to run better on PCs, since this generation of consoles are effectively PC hardware. In its current state, the game is quite unoptimized for the PC.

That argument is one of the strongest as to why consoles can perform better than comparatively specced PCs. With a known hardware configuration, Wargaming can push the game to the limits while for PC, certain core parts of the game cannot be improved without leaving behind a large portion of the player base. Keep in mind however that the PS4 version will be running at 30FPS on the PS4. While 30FPS might be fine for consoles, it can turn into a mess on the PC. The Xbox One version is expected to look almost the same as the PS4 version.
