We would freely concede that there are still many people out there who are struggling to get hold of a PS5 console. I myself only finally managed to nab mine last week after a lot of highly anxious waiting. If you are, however, lucky enough to currently have a PS5 sat under your TV, then we have some very exciting news for you! – Following the announcement of a new collaborative deal, Sony has confirmed that any owner of their next-gen console (digital or disk) can now claim 6 months’ worth of free membership to Apple TV+.
This is quite clearly a pretty amazing deal and one we would fully expect most, if not all, PS5 owners to show at least some interest towards. So, with that in mind, you might be wondering how you claim your free Apple TV+ subscription. Well, overall, it’s actually rather straightforward.
All you need to do is download the Apple TV+ app onto your PS5 and from that, simply sign in to it with your Apple ID. And no, for those of you who are happily sat in the Android camp, you don’t need to own an Apple product to set up an account with them. Put simply, you just need 3 things; an internet connection, a PSN account, and an Apple ID.
Given that the Apple TV+ service usually costs £4.99 a month, this is a pretty sweet deal, and, we should note, one that is available to both new and existing customers across a surprisingly large region of countries (and yes, the UK is indeed on it). As you might expect though, this doesn’t come without a moderate caveat. Namely, that in order to access your 6 months, you will be asked to provide a payment card which, if you fail to cancel at the expiration of your 6 month ‘free trial’ will start charging you accordingly.
As long as you can remember to cancel it though, this is entirely free and, at least in my view, well worth at least checking out! – For more information, you can visit the official promotional website via the link here!
