I haven’t played Psychonauts in fifteen years! However, with the sequel on the way, it’s time to dust of the original and get back at it! Microsoft and Double Fine announced that Psychonauts 2 will release on August 25th, so it’s not like we’ve got long to wait. Furthermore, we’ve now got both the PC requirements, as well as a brand new trailer from E3 2021!
Action, adventure, and lots of kick-ass characters and psychic powers are the order of the day. You’ll be able to dive into people’s brains and battle their inner demons, unlock memories, and deal with all the complexities… and strangeness of someone’s mind in the process. Check out the trailer below!
It doesn’t look like it’s going to be a very demanding game. This is honestly a relief, given that new and more extreme hardware is hard to obtain right now. So those stuck on older systems shouldn’t be worried here. You’ll need a 2 GHz Quad-Core CPU, 8GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560 graphics card, which isn’t really a lot. The game will need about 30GB of HDD space, which is about its most demanding requirement. Although, of course, we expect this to purely cover full HD 60 FPS at recommended, 4K and other luxurious will no doubt need more power.
Combining quirky missions and mysterious conspiracies, Psychonauts 2 is a platform-adventure game with cinematic style and tons of customizable psychic powers. Psychonauts 2 serves up danger, excitement, and laughs in equal measure as players guide Raz on a journey through the minds of friends and foes on a quest to defeat a murderous psychic villain. Optimized for Xbox Series X|S.
Psychonauts 2 is available August 25. Play it day one with Xbox Game Pass.
