Microsoft is feeling generous lately and is offering not one, but two games for free. For a limited time of course. These games are Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds.
PUBG came out last year on the Xbox as a console exclusive (other than the PC), while PES2019 just came out in August 30th. Although unlike PUBG, PES2019 is also currently available for the PlayStation 4. The Microsoft Store listing hints that these are the full versions of the game rather than a demo. Although it does not appear to be a permanent offer, just an extended “free weekend” type deal, albeit much longer.
Microsoft is holding their XO18 event this weekend, and these games will most likely have showcases there. Hence the advanced promotion. The event which will be in Mexico, supposedly includes a “big” PUBG announcement as well.
It probably also has to do with news of the Sony Playstation 4 finally getting it next month. Offering PUBG for free allows Microsoft to increase their player base a bit and entice players who have been holding out on trying the Battle Royale game.
Whether you decide to spend the next few days on a virtual pitch or shooting folks for a Chicken Dinner, it is conpletely up to you. You can grab the games over at the Microsoft Store.
