PureDark Shows Off DLSS Mod For GTA V

Let’s be honest here, GTA V is an older game that runs on most systems very well, especially on the latest hardware, so DLSS is not really necessary. If you do think it is necessary then some good news from modder PureDark as they have been working on implementing DLSS and DLAA into GTA V.

PureDark DLSS For GTA V

As shared by DSOGaming, modder PureDark who is known for previous DLSS mods in games such as Starfield, has shared a video of the DLAA+DLSS mod within a FiveM server. The video explains how it worked and what was done to achieve it. Since GTA has no motion vectors, PureDark had to “patch hundreds of shaders to inject motion vectors”. They also implemented DLAA which is claimed to be much better than the built-in MSAA and TXAA providing the most stable image with no jaggies or flickering. The FPS has been claimed to effectively double in most cases.

This of course isn’t majorly necessary as most systems, especially those that can use DLSS 3, will be perfectly capable of running GTA at high frame rates anyway. This mod will probably make a good pair for some of the various graphics mods for GTA V as many of them tank the frame rate, you just have to find one that doesn’t just add a load of puddles everywhere.

Of course, there is a downside, whilst the mod is not yet released it will be behind a paywall on PureDark’s Patreon for a cost of £4.50. Considering the claim’s around the development of this mod, it seems a fair price to pay.
