QNAP released a new NAS series for the budget minded people that still want a powerful all-around solution. The new TS-x31P series includes three models: The TS-131P 1-bay, TS-231P two-bay, and TS-431P four-bay NAS powered by an Amazon AnnapurnaLabs Alpine AL-212 dual-core 1.7GHz processor. The new series is designed to provide a high-performance and secure private cloud NAS solution tailored for home, SOHO, and workgroup users.
In addition to basic requirements such as file storage, sharing and backup, the TS-x31P series supports value-added cloud-based note-taking app, centralized email account management, contacts management, and abundant multimedia applications.
“A cost-efficient and reliable NAS solution is undoubtedly a key investment for small businesses and organizations to improve workflow efficiency; whereas home users generally like simple and practical storage devices with real-time data accessibility that helps create a modern digital home,” said Dan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP. “The TS-x31P is designed to fulfill such user needs to ensure data security and to bring a comprehensive business and multimedia experience.”
All three models are nearly identical besides the amount of drives that you can install in them. They got 1GB DDR3 memory coupled with the AL-212 dual-core 1.7GHz CPU and three USB 3.0 ports (one on the front with one-touch copy). The two and four-bay models feature two Gigabit Ethernet ports with link aggregation support where the one-bay model only has a single Gigabit Ethernet port.
It is a capable setup that can deliver a performance of up to 225 MB/s throughput and it also comes with hardware encryption engine that provides transfer speeds of over 180 MB/s with AES 256-bit Full NAS Volume Encryption (model tested: TS-431P).
It comes with all the usual QNAP features such as DLNA, AirPlay, and Chromecast support, Container Station and Docker, Qsync and Qcontactz, RTRR and plenty of cloud solutions, as well as the always great Qphoto, Qmusic, Qvideo, Qfile, and Qmanager – and much more.
The new models are available now, should your interest have been peeked.
