QNAP announced a new NAS unit in their lineup and this time it is a rack mounted one. The QNAP TS-431U Turbo NAS is a 1U network storage server for file sharing, backup, synchronization, and more – as they all are.
It is built around a Freescale dual-core 1.2GHz ARM processor and comes with 1GB DDR3 RAM, making it a budget-friendly yet powerful device that can deliver great multi-tasking performance as a business nNAS, enhancing productivity and providing a private cloud for easily and secure data access.
“The TS-431U provides an ideal solution for small businesses and workgroups who want high-performance networked storage with low acquisition costs but without compromising reliability and features,” said Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP.
The TS-431U can perform up to 148 MB/s read and 119 MB/s write throughput with dual Gigabit LAN ports. The LAN ports support dual IP settings and port trunking modes for fault tolerance or link aggregation. The four USB 3.0 ports allows you to connect extra high-speed storage to the unit.
All essential business applications are supported, including cross-platform file sharing for Windows, Mac, and Linux, Windows AD, LDAP directory service, backup solutions for Windows and Mac, disaster recovery solutions with RTRR or Rsync and cloud backup to Microsoft Azore, Amazon S3, Google Cloud, Rackspace, IBM SoftLayer and HP Helion Cloud are all supported – to name a few features.
The new QNAP TS-431U should be available shortly and the current price listings start around €529 without drives. In return you’ll get a powerful 4-bay 1U rackmount model based on a Freescale ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core 1.2GHz processor with encryption acceleration engine with 1GB DDR3 RAM, four USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and two Gigabit LAN ports.
