Taking a break from the usual NAS box releases, QNAP is introducing the new QXG-10G1T. It is a PCIe 3.0 x4 network expansion card that brings 10GbE connectivity to Windows PC, Linux sysytem or any compatible QNAP NAS device.
It is powered by an Aquantia AQtion AQC107 NIC, supporting 10/5/2.5/1Gbps and even 100Mbps speeds. At the rear it has RJ45 connectors which allows users to easily integrate it with their existing cables. Using Cat6a cables, users can experience 10Gbps connectivty, while using Cat 5e is also possible, albeit limited to 5Gbps.
Each package comes with a single-slot card with a low-profile bracket pre-installed. Full-height and specialized brackets are also available.
The QNAP QXG-10G1T 10GBASE-T Network Card is now available in retail stores that sell networking products such as Span.com. Users can also order it directly from QNAP.com for $139.99 USD. It comes with a 1-year warranty.
