QNAP and Platform9 Join Forces to Provide a Hybrid Cloud With OpenStack

QNAP Systems announced the integration between QNAP NAS and Platform9, the open source-as-a-service company making cloud infrastructure easy. This new cooperation will provide a powerful hybrid cloud solution that is remarkably easy to deploy and use across OpenStack environments. Platform9’s managed OpenStack solution enables OpenStack users to use QNAP NAS for compact and highly reliable on-premises data storage.

Now, businesses can easily configure QNAP NAS as block storage supporting their OpenStack environment. With the QNAP Cinder driver (which is fully integrated into Platform9) users can easily add the Block Storage Role on some of their compute nodes from the Platform9 management interface without needing to manually install the driver. Besides the streamlined deployment process, the Compute Nodes can utilize the space on QNAP’s Enterprise ZFS NAS (an enterprise-grade storage providing active-active High Availability, snapshots, data deduplication and compression) and QNAP’s business-class NAS series for powerful and feature-rich storage solutions.
