QNAP Releases Affordable and Scalable TS-451U 4-bay Rackmount SOHO NAS

QNAP announced a new affordable 4-bay 1U rackmount NAS, the TS-451U Turbo NAS. It is built around a dual-core Intel Celeron 2.41GHz processor that delivers better multi-tasking abilities. It is designed for scalability and the storage capacity of the TS-451U can be easily expanded with expansion enclosures to meet the needs of growing data storage.

“In the entry-level rack-mountable NAS segment, we are glad to be the first NAS company to introduce the energy-efficient, 64-bit Celeron®-powered TS-451U, which is designed for budget-conscious SOHO users to store and back up data without sacrificing performance,” said Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP. “Coupled with feature-rich business applications, QvPC Technology, Virtualization Station and 1080p video transcoding, the TS-451U delivers the best cost-effectiveness for growing business data needs.”

The TS-451U Turbo NAS comes with 1GB energy-efficient DDR3L RAM but is upgradable to 8GB. It is powerful enough to deliver up to 220 MB/s read & write speeds with dual LAN ports and it also support full NAS AES 256-bit volume encryption to ensures the safety of sensitive data. The unit supports SSD cache, all possible RAID options, RTRR, rsync, cloud storage backup and much more. You can also expand the capacity all the way to 128TB RAW capacity with an expansion unit like the UX-1200U-RP enclosure, so the future storage needs should be secured.

The QvPC technology allows you to use the system directly by plugging in a keyboard, mouse and HDMI monitor. You can access stored data, run multiple applications using Windows, Linux, UNIX, or Android-based VMs created in Virtualization Station, surf the web, or even watch videos directly from the NAS. This feature is really awesome.
