QNAP Releases QRM+ Beta for Central Management of Networked Devices

QNAP released a really cool new feature called QRM+. QRM stands for QNAP Remote Manager and it can provide IT staff a powerful integrated multi-device management with an innovative visual interface. With QRM+ you can centrally manage all networked computers (servers, PCs, thin clients, and more) as well as deploy and monitor. This can greatly simplify task management and troubleshooting processes.

“QRM+ combines device discovery, management and monitoring needs for networked devices, helping IT staff complete tasks with minimal effort and time,” said Floyd Sung, senior project manager of QNAP, adding “IT staff can quickly attain a full grasp of device status, alerting them to errors and alerts as soon as possible.”

QRM+ is built with an HTML 5-based web interface and it supports both Windows and Ubuntu (12.x, 14.x, 15.x). It also is compatible with IPMI 2.0, allowing the IT staff to monitor the status of compatible devices. To top it off, it also supports KVM over IP for remote control. With Keyboard, Video, and Mouse of IP, multiple clients are allowed to connect to the remote server simultaneously.

The dashboard increases visibility for the health status of mission-critical servers and all connected devices. The dashboard can also be customised to suit the needs of specific devices. QRM+ uses network topology to discover networked devices and to map the entire network infrastructure, including connection status, device types, and device status.

QRM+ also includes threshold-based alerts to assist staff in timely correction of problems, log management for further analysis and troubleshooting, and additional tools for improving the work efficiency of IT staff.

QRM+ Beta is now available from the QTS App Center, but there are some requirements. Your NAS needs to have at least 4GB RAM and be either from the x82 series with QTS 4.2.2 or later, or from the x85 series with QTS 4.3.0 or later. More information can be found here.
