Price
The QPAD 8K offers premium performance, but it comes with a premium price tag to match. It can be picked up at the official QPAD website for 79,90 EUR, which is around £60/$87, putting it in the same price bracket as the Corsair M65, TteSports Level 10M, MadCatz RAT7, to name but a few.
Overview
QPAD have done a really great job with the 8K Pro Gaming Mouse. It’s packed full of features that will obviously appeal to a a gaming audience and while I can’t see pro gamers taking up this mouse, I can see it proving very popular with gamers in general. Pro gamers, at least as far as the ones I know, tend to use rather simple mice, such as the Zowie and Steelseries ranges, five buttons, no fussy customization settings, optical sensor, that’s it. However, most pro gamers specialise in one game or another, what the 8K offers is something more diverse. If like most gamers, you play a lot of different games, then you’ll find the 8K better suited to your needs. It has a range of macros and profiles that allow you to jump between different settings any time you need to, such as when you change games. There are a bunch of performance tweaking options to allow you to tune sensor performance a whole lot more. The 8K is a very versatile mouse overall.
I love the ergonomics of this mouse, but I must admit that they’re not going to be suited to everyone, obviously. Claw grip play styles don’t feel comfortable, as the ergonomics are designed for palm rest and its far more comfortable for long hours on an RPGs, as the wide shape of the mouse helps rest your hand and alleviate wrist strain. The soft touch coating gives the mouse a nice high-quality feel and it is also easy to maintain.
Build quality is very good. The mouse is fairly light, but the plastics feel strong, with no loose fitting panels or squeaky buttons. The addition of a braided cable, gold plated USB connector, Omron switches and a soft padded protective pouch help further ensure the longevity of the mouse.
Performance is superb and while the price is a little higher, you do get a lot of features and quality in return for your investment. If you need a versatile and flexible mouse for work and gaming, the 8K is a great mouse to consider.
Pros
Cons
“The QPAD 8K Pro Gaming Mouse is a little more expensive that your typical gaming mouse, but QPAD have put a lot of extra features and fantastic build quality into their product, that it doesn’t take long to realise it’s worth the extra investment. If you need a mouse that’s suitable for any occasion, check out the 8K!”
