This Quake 2 mod deserves a closer look.
Whenever I think about Quake 2, I instantly get flashbacks of my childhood. Whether I was playing it with friends or alone at home, I always enjoyed exploring and shooting things up. Quake 2 came out in 1997, and it was developed by id Software. It had Activision as its publisher, and it received praise from critics and gamers alike. While the single player version was nothing out of the ordinary, the multiplayer really put the game in the spotlight. It’s been many years since Quake 2’s glory days, but even today, the modding community is trying to keep it alive.
A mod that adds high-polygon 3D weapon models has recently surfaced, and we just had to take a closer look at it. Signed by a modder named “Turic,” this project is fully compatible with Berserker@quake2, KmQuake, and Q2xp.
Where can I download it from?
Those of you who are interested in trying it out can download Berserker@quake2 version right here and the Q2xp version from here. A brand new Quake2xp version also surfaced, and it provides support for the Md3 model format. it also works better with the xBox360 controller software, and it includes a sRGB frame buffer for better gamma-contrast.
