The time has finally come for Quake Champions to exit the closed beta phase and finally become an Early Access Steam title, while still available via the Bethesda.net launcher of course. The Early Access begins on August 22, in preparation ahead of QuakeCon. In addition to the move to Early Access, Quake Champions also gets a ton of new content including maps and the addition of the DOOM slayer himself.
Worlds Collide in Quake Champions
When it was announced in June that Wolfenstein II character B.J. Blazkowicz is joining the roster, fans knew it is only a matter of time before other id software characters show up. Each champion has their own set of special abilities and the DOOM Slayer has the Berserker-mode special. While active, the DOOM Slayer can smash into other enemies leaving them in gibs with only his bare hands. The character also brings a familiar DOOM feature as his passive ability which is double-jumping. This gives the DOOM Slayer a height and reach advantage that other champions do not have. Literally taking a higher ground.
