Qualcomm recently unveiled the new Snapdragon 800 and 600 mobile processors aimed towards premium mobile phones and portable devices.
The company’s CEO Paul Jacobs said that the new chip line up, including the new flagship model the Snapdragon 800, will be 75% faster than the Snapdragon S4 processor. It support recording and playback of Ultra HD Videos and consume only half the power of its predecessor. The Snapdragon 800 chips will be using the new quad core Krait 400 CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz per core and the Adreno 330 GPU, Hexagon V5 DSP and 4G LTE Cat 4 modem with data rates of up to 150 bps.
Qualcomm expects to begin shipping within the next few months, so we should be seeing Snapdragon 800 enabled devices later this year.
