Quantum Break Receives Mammoth 27GB Patch
Microsoft’s shock announcement that Quantum Break would launch simultaneously on Windows 10 and Xbox One demonstrated their new attitude towards the PC platform. Since then, Phil Spencer has clarified the company’s plans to launch numerous games on the Universal Windows Platform including the upcoming Forza titles. Unfortunately, the releases thus far have been extremely buggy and suffered from terrible performance issues. Achieving a stable frame-rate even at 1080P whilst playing Quantum Break was a challenge. This is surprising because the developer, Remedy Entertainment has a strong pedigree on the PC. Thankfully, the game has just been updated to version 1.7.0.0 and includes a number of performance fixes. Unbelievably the patch is 27GB which showcases how broken the original release was.
