A Closer Look – Interior
The OEM for Be Quiet’s Dark Power Pro 10 550W PSU is FSP. The PSU design is a new one from FSP and according to TechPowerUp this unit “uses a half bridge topology in the primary side along with an LLC resonant converter to boost efficiency and in the secondary synchronous rectification is used along with two DC-DC converters (or VRMs) for the generation of the minor rails.”
The transient filtering stage has one X cap and two Y caps at the AC receptacle. Further filtering is located on the PCB…
Additional filtering includes two CM chokes, one X cap, two Y caps and an MOV. FSP have also added a thermistor to protect against large in-rush currents.
The two main hold-up capacitors are both made by Matsushita/Panasonic . They are both identical with 220uF, 450V and are rated for 1o5 degrees celsius.
Two daughter boards provide a PFC controller and LLC resonant & PWM controller
The majority of polymer caps are provided by Capxon and some are Nippon Chemi-Con electrolytes.
