be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 850W CM Review

A Closer Look – Interior
Unlike the Dark Power Pro 10 550W CM power supply we recently reviewed the 850W model is based on a Seasonic, not FSP, platform. There is no exact Seasonic PSU this is based on but it uses a similar design to the Seasonic P-860 with modifications for the fan headers, OCK switch and hardwired 24 pin motherboard cable.
The AC receptacle has a complete line filter with one X cap, two Y caps and a CM choke.
The filtering continues onto the PCB with one more X cap, four more Y caps, two more CM chokes and an MOV.
The two main hold up caps are provided by Nippon Chemi-Con and are both 420V, 390 uF, 105°C and part of the KMR series.
The majority of the +12 volt rail is filtered by polymer Chemi-Con caps but also a few electrolytic Chemi-Con caps rated for 105 degrees.
The modular PCB houses the VRMs that generate the minor rails, being so close to the modular connections they help minimise voltage droop.
The provided fans is a be quiet! Silent Wings P10 fan capable of up to 2000 RPM. Of course if the rest of the Dark Power Pro 10 series is anything to go by then it will barely reach half of that 2000 RPM even at full load.
