be quiet! Silent Base 800 Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Interior

With the side panel removed you can see even more of the thick sound proofing material we saw in the front panel. There’s a clip-in cover for a fan mount on the panel with a mesh dust filter pre-installed.

There is a huge cut-out in the back plate to aid with CPU cooler fittings and there are four large rubber grommets to help with cable management.

In the front you’ll find two hard drive bays, the top bay will support three drives and the bottom will support four more; both hard drive bays are completely removable via their thumb screw fittings.

The 5.25″ drive bays come fitted with tool free locking mechanisms for quick and easy drive installations.

There are four small rubber pads to help reduce any vibrations from your PSU. There’s also room to mount an additional 120/140mm fan in the base of the chassis.

There’s even more padding on the back of the PSU mount which should again help keep any vibrations to a minimum.

There are seven ventilated and reusable metal covers on each of the expansion slots; each come fitted with a quick release thumb screw.

Another high quality fan in the back, which is also fitted with anti-vibration rubber washers.

In the top of the chassis you’ll find universal mounts for 120mm and 140mm fans/radiators.

Each of the hard drive bays come with a slide down locking mechanism.

Around the back you’ll find loads of cable routing space, which should mean you’ll have no trouble getting your system looking neat and tidy.

Two 2.5″ stealth mounts are located behind the motherboard; a welcome addition for those who want to remove the front hard drive bays for a custom water cooling hardware.

A small pass through cut-out in the top corner of the motherboard for your 8-pin CPU cables.

Here you can see the full length of the bottom dust filter. It’s heavily reinforced, most likely to prevent it from rattling or vibrating.

A better look behind the front panel; so nice to see such high quality fans pre-installed on a chassis!

The top panel can be lifted off and the cables have easy connectors to allow you to remove it completely.

Top panel out of the way, you have much better access to the top panel fan and radiator mounts.
