This is already quite a compact PSU, but on the interior you’ll notice that there’s still plenty of room to spare, with the PCB not filling the who unit. This extra space is to ensure a 120mm fan can be installed, rather than compromise for a smaller, and likely noisier fan.
Cooling should be pretty good overall, as everything is nicely spaced out to allow for good airflow are some good size cooling fins around major components.
There’s a single bulk capacitor here, which is rated for 400V, 330uf and up to 85c. Not as high-end as we usually see from be quiet! but this is a more affordable unit afterall.
The line-in and filtering stage at the back looks promising, with good soldering, and thick shielding on the cables. If previous be quiet! products are anything to go by, we should see low ripple on this unit.
All cables have been given a rubber cap to prevent damage or shorting, and overall, the whole unit holds up well under close inspection. The fan header and other major joints have been coated with black rubber glue, helping ensure nothing comes loose over time.
Despite being hard-wired, there’s very limit excess cable inside the PSU and it travels the least amount of distance over the PCB as possible; this is going to help reduce any obstructions to the airflow.
Overall, some lower grade capacitors compared to their usual high-end hardware and the fan is a Yate Loon D12SH-12, not one of be quiet! design, but again it will help keep the cost down and this is still a good quality fan overall.
