Radeon RX 7900 GRE Model Leaked With a Launch This Week

A new model for the RX 7900 named Golden Rabbit Edition has been leaked in the form of a Sapphire card bearing its name.

Radeon RX 7900 GRE

A Sapphire RX 7900 GRE card was shared by @wxnod on Twitter (via VideoCardz) and is supposedly a special celebratory edition card specifically for the Chinese market with it unlikely to be seen in the global market. The card features a cooler similar to that of the existing Sapphire Nitro 7900 XT with a few alterations in the shape and vents. Separating this card is the reduced memory with just 16GB of VRAM on a 256-bit bus as opposed to 20GB on a 320-bit bus. In terms of other specs, PCGamesHardware reported that it features the same clock speeds as the XT however has a reduced TGP of 300W compared to 315W.

Release Date

This card will likely be and remain a China Exclusive as I don’t see much value in a global launch with its reduced VRAM especially in the wake of the 7800 which may launch in the next few months. In terms of a launch date for this card, AMD has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the card, however, momomo_us has claimed that this card could launch on the 28th of July. Ideally for 4GB less VRAM I won’t expect much in terms of a price cut, however if NVIDIA can charge $100 for 8GB more VRAM with the 4060 Ti, this should be $50 cheaper than the 7900 XT with 4GB less.
