Raijintek Morpheus GPU Cooler Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The Morpheus isn’t really that cheap, it will still set you back £44.99, but if you’re really seeking quieter performance and lower temperatures, then you’ll be more than happy with what Raijintek have to offer. The only issue is that you will still have to invest in a set of fans for it as they’re not included with the Morpheus, but you should be able to pick up a good pair for £20-30, such as these from Aerocool, BitFenix or Corsair to name but a few. For those who want to make their life a little easier, Overclockers.co.uk are selling multiple Morpheus GPU cooler and fan bundles at discount prices, which you can check out here.

Overview

Raijintek have done it once again, they’ve created a impressive looking product that does exactly what they said it would. Performance on the Morpheus is outstanding and while I’m not entirely sure it’s needed in terms of cooling performance for the Sapphire R9 270X, it was a good to see just how far the cooling performance could be improved upon without the use of water cooling products, at a price range that’s also significantly cheaper than water cooling.

If you were running the Morpheus on a non-factory overclocked card, then this is easily the first step towards pushing the performance of your card further. For those not interested in overclocking, it’s great for accomplishing much lower acoustic levels while also extending the lifetime of your hardware by keeping it nice and cool.

Aesthetically speaking the Morpheus looks impressive, although I suspect some may disapprove of the overall size of the complete setup; especially since it takes up four PCI bays in total. The size of the Morpheus limits it to those running a single GPU configuration and even then you’ll need the chassis space to hold it, so it’s unlikely that this will find a home in many of the mini-ITX chassis that are available.

The price isn’t the cheapest, but for the performance gains it’s really not that bad and stacks up well when compared to other after market solutions such as the GPU AIO water cooling brackets from NZXT.

Pros

  • Very easy to install
  • High quality finish
  • Great cooling capabilities
  • Compatible with many popular graphics cards
  • Loads of VRM coolers included
  • Extra adhesive pads included for future re-installations

Cons

  • Overall size limits you to single GPU

Neutral

  • Doesn’t come with fans included, but there are bundles out there offering some good deals to cater to this problem

“Raijintek have proven once again that they really can make a great cooler and I hope this is the first of many GPU coolers that we’ll see from them. It’s a little big and there is room for refinement, but for now this is easily one of the best aftermarket coolers (for a single GPU system) I’ve ever used.”
