Price
A £31.99 price tag makes the Raijintek Pallas budget friendly, you don’t have to be earning mega-bucks to be able to afford it and if you’re trying to keep costs down on your next HTPC build, this is certainly a tempting option, you’ll struggle to find anything better in this price range and category.
Overview
I’m becoming quite a fan of Raijintek products, this is only the second cooler I’ve tested from the new company and I must say I’m rather happy with how they’re coming along. Their design is faultless and the mixture of Nickel coating with a white and red fan that they use across their entire range looks gorgeous and it wouldn’t look out-of-place in virtually any rig. The Pallas looks especially nice and the low profile design, combined with the slim fan looks great, with more than enough clearance around to not conflict with ram, or other major components.
Performance wise it’s certainly full of surprises, the low RPM of the fan means that even when put under pressure the Pallas was quieter that almost anything else we’ve tested, literally in audible from more than two feet away in its low RPM state. Temps were a little high at stock load, but the trade-off was super quiet performance, you can always turn up the fan if you wanted, but there really is no need to as temperature were hardly in the danger zone. Beyond that I found that overclocking performance was pretty incredible, the fan kicked up a couple of extra dBA and still maintained being the second quietest cooler I’ve ever tested, while scoring some impressive temperatures when compared to coolers twice its size and in some cases, twice the price.
Installation was a little tricky, but it’s clear that Raijintek have done everything they can to make it as straight forward as possible, so it was still one of the easiest low profile coolers I’ve worked with. The addition of high quality components and fittings certainly helped a lot.
Pros
Cons
“Overall there really isn’t much else to say about the Pallas, it does exactly what Raijintek say it will, and it does a pretty fine job of it too, it’s cool, quiet, stylish and very well made. Yet the best thing of all, it does all the things you want it to for a very reasonable price tag.”
Thank you Raijintek for providing us with this sample.
