Final Thoughts
Price
At £86.99 the Raijintek Thetis Aluminium Tempered Glass ATX Chassis is excellent value for money. There are comparable products on the market, albeit with steel or plastic construction for around the same price. Most aluminium and glass chassis of this quality typically cost well over £100; if you think you can do better for less, let me know.
Overview
The latest chassis from Raijintek may not offer much in the way of innovation, but that doesn’t make me love it any less. This form factor may not be new territory, and the front mounted PSU and inverted motherboard layout design have been done before, both by other manufacturers and by Raijintek. The new Thetis is even based on their older model and little has changed concerning layout; they even use the same design for some of their small Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX models. That being said, the end result is still stunning and the addition of the new fan design, as well as dual tempered glass side panels, makes an already great chassis an even better one, possibly even one of the best ones on the market today.
The build quality is premium throughout, from the beautifully finished brushed aluminium exterior to the sleek black paint job on the interior. The tempered glass is nicely finished and comes with a dark tint so that the chassis has style, but it’s not too revealing if you’ve got average cable management skills.
It doesn’t take a pro to put together a great build in this chassis. It looks like it’s going to be a tight fit, but it’s far from it. I had no issues getting an ATX motherboard, ATX PSU, and a good size CPU cooler, graphics card and storage drives in this chassis. Routeing some of the cables can be tricky, but that’s mostly from a desire to want it to look neat and tidy should it be visible through the glass panels, and far from impossible to achieve.
However, the price is still the best feature here, and with some change from £100, you’ll be hard pushed to find something that offers this level of quality in terms of features and materials used. If you want a chassis that can sit proudly on your desktop for all to see, the Thetis is perfect for the job.
