Raijintek Zelos Low Profile CPU Cooler

Final Thoughts

Price

The Raijintek Zelos low profile CPU cooler can be found at overclockers.co.uk offering it for £15.95 + shipping here in the UK. This is actually a really good price and is one of the cheapest coolers on the market. If you are after a low priced cooler for an office PC or an internet browser then this cooler would fit the bill perfectly

Overview;

Unfortunately this cooler has been a bit of a disappointment, some of the other Raijintek coolers have been fantastic and really surprised us, such as the Raijintek Themis Evo, this one however just missed the mark and didn’t quite perform as well as we had hoped. From a pricing perspective, it is very cheap and it does have a place on the market. If you are after a cheap low profile cooler for an office computer or another application where you want silence and wont be putting the CPU under much strain then this would be perfect, but if your budget can stretch a little and your not stuck for space, you will see lower temperatures from its slightly bigger brother the Raijintek Pallas.

Its not to say that this cooler hasn’t got its upsides, the packaging is excellent, the ease of mounting is outstanding and the cooler does look very good, it does have a feeling of quality about it like many of Raijinteks other products. Unfortunately, although these points are all valid, we just can’t give this cooler one of our awards. It really is a shame and hopefully Raijintek make a Zelos 2 which will look and feel the same, but just perform slightly better.

Pros

  • Virtually silent performance
  • Great build quality
  • Good looking aesthetics
  • Very simple to install

Cons

  • Doesn’t perform under load
  • Quite warm at idle but would still be OK for low load computers
  • Only available with a red/white fan

“The Raijintek Zelos looks the part, has a feeling of quality about it and at the low cost of just over £15, is priced well. The idea is great but unfortunately it doesn’t quite perform as well as we had hoped. Hopefully, Raijintek will make an improved version of this cooler as there do need to be more low profile, cheap coolers on the market. “

Thank you Raijintek for providing us with this sample.
