Raja Koduri Goes on Sabbatical–Dr. Lisa Su Steps in

AMD Radeon Chief Architect and Radeon Technologies Senior VP Raja Koduri is taking a sabbatical starting September 25. He is taking a leave of absence and is stepping down as RTG chief for the remainder of Q4 2017. There is expectation that he will be returning sometime in December.
Although AMD has had a successful year with the launch of Ryzen and Threadripper, their RX Vega graphics series had some turmoil surrounding its launch. This includes supply issues, price increases due to DRAM pricing, as well as some disappointed fans that are unhappy with the video card’s performance. However, this is not slowing down AMD, who DigiTimes reports is already planning production of their Vega 11 GPUs soon.
Dr. Lisa Su Takes the Lead in Radeon Technology Group
Raja’s absence will allow him to spend some time with family. Something which he says, was in the cards for a while. He just had to work out when would be a good time to take a break. While Raja Koduri is on sabbatical, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su is assuming the leadership role. She has led AMD through some trying times, so the AMD Radeon Technologies Group is in good hands.
