Gaming peripheral creator Razer and high-end PC builder Maingear have teamed up to create a beautiful, beastly PC gaming rig. The Maingear R1 Razer Edition boasts the sleek hardware touches of Maingear – including its ‘Origami Wiring’ for increased airflow and “handcrafted hardline liquid cooling” – and the obvious design touches of Razer, with the PC’s modified NZXT H440 case replete with green lighting inside and out.
The R1 Razer Edition base model comes with an Intel Core i5 6500, 8GB HyperX FURY, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, and is priced $999. The high-end customisation – which can include a 10-core Intel Core i7 6950K, GeForce Titan X, 10TB HDD or 2TB SSD, and up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM – can push that price close to $15,000.
“Collaborating with Maingear to deliver an uncommonly powerful and versatile desktop system that satisfies the demands of even the most ardent gamer is extremely exciting,” Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer, said. “The feature-set and craftsmanship of the R1 Razer Edition leave it in a class of its own today, and the customizable design leaves the door wide open for untold enhancements well into the future. With a starting price under a thousand dollars, and with full Razer product and software integration provided out-of-the-box, we trust that every gamer will be able to enjoy this incredible machine and the experiences it promises.”
The Maingear R1 Razer Edition can be ordered today from the Maingear website.
