Razer Announces Hammerhead USB-C in-ear Headset

With the 3.5mm audio jack going away on mobile devices, Razer is adapting their Hammerhead in-ear headsets to meet that demand. Which is why the company is introducing two new versions of the Hammerhead in-ear headset which does not use a 3.5mm connector. For Android users, the new Razer Hammerhead USB-C houses a custom-tuned DAC converter with digital output to produce clean, unprocessed audio. Users who are using Apple products on the other hand, can use the new iOS Mercury Edition. This one leverages the digital output of Apple Lightning connector source-direct audio without processing.

In terms of looks, both are identical with the exception of the connector type. This compact in-ear headset hammers in the bass, despite the small size. Its Bi-flange ear tips allow for proper sealing and isolation when worn. Inside each ear piece is a 10mm Neodymium magnet driver with a frequency response range of 20 Hz – 20kHz. The microphone is in-line and has a omni-directional pick-up pattern with a 100 Hz – 10,000 Hz frequency response. This inline mic also has volume controls on the other side, with a center control button. This allows users to accept or end calls, change tracks or fast forward by clicking.

The cables are also flat, so that it remains tangle-free when in the pocket or in storage. This comes in the signature Razer green and is 1.3 meters long with the logo at the back of each ear plug. The iOS Mercury Edition comes in a matching Apple white version. Although users can also get it in the standard Razer green.

Hammerhead USB-C and iOS Mercury Edition Pricing and Availability

The USB-C version costs $79.99 USD and is available with free shipping. The iOS version in both black or mercury white are available for $99.99 USD with free shipping as well.
