Razer Announces the Portal WiFi Gaming Router

It is an extremely busy year for Razer as they have over a dozen products in 2017, including their new high-end smartphone. It is December now and they are still coming out with new products, right before CES 2018 in January. The latest is the new Portal WiFi gaming router. Unlike other Razer products, this one is not in their distinct neon green colour. In fact, it is a very simple looking and plain white device with very soft edges.

According to Razer, it uses ZeroWait ZWDFS technology for lag-free gaming and streaming. Despite the lack of external antennas, it is actually quite a capable dual-band WiFi router using AC2400 Wave-2. Nine internal antennas provide 3,000 square feet coverage. Furthermore, connecting up to two Portal WiFi routers increases the range up to 6,000 square feet. The back of the router also provides four LAN ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a WAN connector port.

Portal App Control

The Razer Portal boasts ease of use, and it even comes with an iOS or Android app for complete control. Users can keep the network secure and private without accessing a wired PC. The secure admin control is solely accessed via a Bluetooth paired smartphone. That means hackers cannot attempt to break in at all. Unless they actually mug you and use your phone directly.

Pricing and Availability

The Portal Smart WiFi router is available now via RazerZone.com for £179.99.
