Razer Electra Headset Review

Along the bottom of the headset you can see some of the styling that has gone into thie headset, with the Razer logo on each earpiece, the leatherette ear padding and an overall design that somehow manages to be smooth and angular at the same time, which in my opinion looks fantastic.

The in-line microphone is a pokey little thing, there isn’t a clip included to hold it on to your shirt and at this point I had my doubts about its performance, I didn’t even notice it was there until I read the instruction book to see why I had two cables! one thing I do like though is the cables them selves, they’re made of a really high quality rubber and have a really nice feel to them, a little thicker than you get on most headphones, which is a good thing as it means they’re less likely to break and they should last you longer.

The ear cups on the Electra are covered in a very soft leatherette padding and backed with the shocking bright green lining, again this all looks very cool.  One of the best features is how these ear peices are mounted on a free moving pivot, allowing the ear cup to freely tilt from the middle, meaning it will always fit snug to your head without having to adjust the angle or rotation manually like on some headsets.

The headband its self is covered in a more durable leather, again in shock green, not that I had to point that fact out, its bright green, you can’t miss it, but the underside is filled with a softer padding which offers great grip, preventing the headset from slipping while your out and about, but all the while its still extremely comfortable.

So overall a big win on style / design here, these headphones look very cool.  They feel very durable too, I’m pretty certain they would survive a few severe knocks and bumps with ease.
