Professional gamers are always looking to increase their performance in almost any way and very often with the level of gaming skill that they play at, their hardware can play a huge part in either winning or losing. For a long time Razer has been at the forefront of PC peripheral technology allowing gamers to access that competitive edge they need from their hardware and today, Razer has provided more in the form of faster Wireless Polling rates for several of Razer’s existing lineup of mice.
Razer 8000 Hz Wireless Polling Rate Update
Back in 2021 Razer introduced their Razer Viper 8 KHz featuring true 8000 Hz polling rate which followed in 2022 with the introduction of HyperPolling Wireless with a true 4000 Hz wireless rate. Then in April 2023 Razer enhanced that further up to 8000 Hz HyperPolling Wireless with the Viper Mini Signature Edition. Today Razer has pushed that further by extending its 8000 Hz Polling rate to a wider selection of gaming mice.
The upgrade applies to owners of the Viper V2 Pro, DeathAdder V3 Pro, Cobra Pro, Basilisk V3 Pro and Viper V3 HyperSpeed and can be installed through the Razer Synapse App.
How Polling Rate Improves Mice
The Polling rate, specifically the 8000Hz polling rate, can allow the mouse to transmit up to 8 times more data every second from your mouse to your PC which dramatically reduces the input delay. When coupled with the ultra-low latency of Razer HyperSpeed wireless, it ensures that users have the most responsive and reliable connection with impeccable accuracy and no micro-stutters.
Additionally, users can customise their polling rate through the Razer Synapse app from 125Hz all the way to 8000Hz. This is also quite useful for those looking to conserve their battery life as being able to select a lower polling rate for when you aren’t gaming is a good option to have.
