Razer Introduces Kiyo HD Webcam with Built-in Ring Light
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
In an effort to cater more to streaming gamers, Razer is introducing the new Kiyo HD webcam. What is particularly creative about this product is that unlike other cameras, it comes with a built-in LED ring light. This gives streamers proper lighting without buying extra components. It also allows them to stream “on-the-go” since the light is integrated into the camera. Ring lights create flattering lighting and eliminates harsh shadows. The Kiyo also has adjustable light levels which can be set to match the environment.
As for the camera’s video capability, it can capture 720p at 60 fps. Users can also set it to stream 1080p videos at a lower 30fps framerate. In terms of still photos, it can take a 2688 x 1520 resolution image, which is perfect for taking quick portraits as well. It readily integrates with popular streaming platforms like Open Broadcaster Software or Xsplit. Simply plug in the USB 2.0 connector and start streaming. The webcam comes with a built-in microphone of course, recording at 16bit 48kHz and picks up audio omnidirectionally with a -38dB sensitivity.
Pricing and Availability
The Razer Kiyo is part of Razer’s new streaming studio product line and is available worldwide for £99.99 with free shipping to the UK. Razer is also offering a free carrying case to those who purchase it before October 27.
