Razer Introduces New Color Options for Peripheral
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
The majority of peripherals available only comes in black, so it is nice to see when manufacturers such as Razer provide alternate color options. Aside from the default black, users now have the option of choosing white or grey as well. Or as Razer calls them, mercury white or gunmetal grey. Although the grey version retains the black keycap color, the mercury white version gets a matching all-white keycap set. This alternate option is not only available on Razer’s Blackwidow X Chroma mechanical keyboard. Users can also choose a white or grey Kraken 7.1 headset, Lancehead TE mouse, and Invicta mousepad. Even the sleeved cables for each peripheral receives the color change.
Different Color, Same Features, Same Price
The alternate colors do not change the pricing in anyway. It is purely cosmetic so the Razer peripherals still retain the same features and price point. The only change in functionality is really just in the Invicta mousepad due to the drastic color change from dark to white surface. There are some laser sensors which have a harder time tracking on lighter surfaces.
Pricing
The Razer Blackwidow X Chroma gunmetal grey and mercury white is unfortunately only available for the US layout so far. The Nordic, German, French and UK layout only has the black option on the RazerStore and costs £149.99. The Kraken 7.1 V2 headset starts at £99.99, while the Lancehead Tournament Edition costs £79.99. Lastly, the Invicta mousepad has an MSRP of £54.99.
