Razer Kraken V3 X Wired USB Gaming Headset Review

How Much Does it Cost?
Razer Kraken V3 X Wired USB Gaming Headset is available now for just £69.00 on Amazon. That’s a pretty mid-range price for a headset, but it does make for some strong competition. That’s a similar price to the SteelSeries Arctis 3, the Corsair VOID Elite, and the Creative BlasterX H6, which are all very impressive headsets in their own rights.
Overview
Razer has a very interesting headset here, but I’ll admit, it’s likely not the right headset for me personally, but we’ll get back to that. At this price range, it does have some solid competition. Thankfully, Razer has a few unique features that make this headset stand out. For one, it’s super lightweight, and it’s easily one of the most comfortable headsets I’ve worn in ages. It may not seem important, but when you’re wearing a headset for 8+ hours, that lightweight design is going to pay off.
Secondly, the microphone is absolutely fantastic. There’s a lot of basic microphone on headsets under £100, but this one is a clear cut above the usual pinhole microphones we often get. Razer’s HyperClear Cardioid Mic is excellent and natural sounding and has a good pickup pattern that ignores a fair amount of ambient noise.
Build Quality
It’s a strange headset for build quality, as the lightweight design means it doesn’t feel quite as reinforced as some. There’s no metal strip through the headband, and it does use lighter and fewer materials in its construction to keep the weight down.
I know that it would live on the headset stand on my desk and be very well looked after. Honestly, I wouldn’t have any concerns if I owned it and used it. However, I wouldn’t give it to my daughter for the Xbox, one day, she’s going to step on it. It’s not built badly, it’s just built to be lighter and comfortable, so keep that in mind.
The cable is hard-wired, but it’s very durable too. Plus, while I’m not too fond of hard-wired microphones, at least I can’t lose this one; and I often do lose my microphones.
Should I Buy One?
I spend almost all of my time using my headset to watch movies and listen to music. For me, the Razer Kraken V3 X isn’t quite what I’m after. However, when it comes to voice chat, I have to admit, it’s one of the best. Not only does the microphone make you sound great, but the drivers are well suited to the vocal range, and it doesn’t leave your ears feeling fatigued after hours of use. When it comes to gaming, they’re perfect, bringing out lots of detail in the sound while also delivering loads of volume when you need it. If gaming and discord are your life, you’ll find a lot to love about the Kraken V3 X.
