How Much Does it Cost?

The Razer Nari Ultimate Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox One and PC is available right now from most major retailers and directly from Razer. It’s priced at £199.00 on Amazon UK and $199.99 in the US. However, there are a bunch of versions available, including PewDiePie Edition, Overwatch Edition, and one with a fancy RGB stand!

It’s certainly not cheap, but it’s about on par with other flagship gaming headsets from rival brands. Give or take £20, it’s the same price as the STeelSeries Arctis 9X, Corsair Virtuoso SE, Logitech G Pro X and more. Albeit, they’re VERY fierce competition and all great headsets, but Razer has done their work here, and the Nari Ultimate is very competitive.

Overview

I’m a big fan of large headsets with thumping bass and big ear pads for long term comfort that are wireless. So it’s pretty easy for me to say I like the Razer Nari Ultimate, I really do. This one is very much going to appeal to the gaming market though, as it is an Xbox One headset first and foremost but as I found out myself, it works just perfectly on PC too so don’t feel left out. Just remember, you need one of the Xbox Wireless USB dongles to use it wirelessly on your PC, but it pairs natively with the Xbox One just like your controller would.

Build Quality

The headset is pretty durable, and Razer has used a range of quality materials here. What I like the most is the automatically adjusting headband. It’s hardly a new idea, but we know it works and its very comfortable. Plus, the main headband is a durable aluminium design and that feels very robust. The ear cup padding is nice and thick, and you get a dual layer of PU-leather on the side walls too.

I like that the microphone is built-in too, I don’t use one often and always misplace my detachable one. Having it fold into the ear cup is just perfect for me.

Performance

It’s a mighty sounding headset, there’s no doubt about that. The HyperSense is a bit of a gimmick, and I’d like the headset just as much without it if I’m honest. However, it is a gimmick that works, albeit I suggest you turn down the levels of it as it can be a bit distracting. Once set up right, however, it can really add to the immersion of games and movies.

Overall though, a pair of powerful 50mm drivers give you the main audio, with no distortion and plenty of bass on tap. It’s really good for gaming and while the noise isolation is great from the closed-back drivers, you can put on some sidetone through the microphone to hear your surroundings and monitor your own voice levels.

Should I Buy One?

It’s certainly an interesting headset, and for Xbox One, it’s one of the best out there. It’s not a cheap headset, but you do get impressive built-quality and sound for your investment, and it’s certainly going to appeal to those who like that big bass sound!
