Razer may get a lot of fame for their high-end gaming mice and keyboards, but they’re also a big player in the desktop audio market. Their Kraken headsets are some of my favourite headsets, but what about when you just want to crank up the volume and share your music with the room? You use The Leviathan!
I’m not normally a fan of sound bars, but the technology has improved in recent years, so I’m eager to hear what this one can do. With the promise of Dolby Virtual Speakers for 5.1 surround sound, Dolby Digital and Pro Logic II multichannel audio support, the new Razer offering seems to be one of the better equipped sounds bars available.
There are two 2.5″ full range and two 0.74″ tweeter drivers, which are powered by a 30 watt RMS amplifier. The unit has a frequency response of 180 Hz to 20 KHz on the sound bar. There is also a 30 watt RMS subwoofer, which features a 5.25″ driver and a 20 Hz to 180 Hz range.
The bar supports analog, optical and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and NFC support.
Prices are expected to be $199 in the US and €199 in Europe. It’s available for pre-order now and will be available worldwide from November.
