Razer SW:TOR Edition Gaming Mouse Pad Review

All of the SW:TOR edition products are similarly styled in Star Wars themed packaging. With the mouse pad, a large part of the box has been changed to a transparent plastic to allow you to see the mouse pad in most of it’s glory. The rest of the packaging is dedicated to artwork for the SW: The Old Republic game.
On the back of the box there is a diagram that labels all of the various features for the mouse pad.
In the top left corner of the back of the box there is a small cut out that allows you to feel the material and the texture of the underside of the mouse pad – a nice touch to have.
The contents of the box include a brief manual for the mouse pad, a bit of info on Razer and their warranty, some stickers of the Razer logo and the SW:TOR faction emblems and of course the mouse pad itself.
The mouse pad has an angular shape to it and is styled to the SW:TOR theme. The actual pad in the flesh is more of a grey colour, our camera just had a hard time recreating this due to the amount of light and our white backdrop.
As you saw in the featured image for this review, the main body of this mouse pad actually separates from the heavy, black frame. This allows you to change the emblem from the Republic, to the Sith (or vice versa).
The entirety of the mouse pad is fairly thick, more so than most, but at it’s maximum is 5mm. The black base is slightly less, and you can just about make out the flat bezel in the lower right of the mouse pad.
The underside of the mouse pad is covered in a rubber material, in a hexagonal pattern. This is make sure the mouse pad stays fixed to the desk during those intense gaming sessions.
The mouse pad is a fairly small size, so we are anticipating problems with this, although the main body of the mouse pad does feel very smooth to the touch so this might counteract the small size. The weight of the mouse pad is also considerably more than other smaller mouse pads, which is down to the metal base Razer have given it. Could this cause any issues? Let’s find out after the jump.
