Razer SW:TOR Edition Gaming Mouse Pad Review
Tim Mammatt / 12 years ago
We could go on and on about the differences between hard and soft mouse pads in this conclusion, but for the sake of our readers we’ll just keep this simple:
The SW:TOR edition Razer gaming mouse pad, as expected with hard mouse pads, has performed brilliantly. With the slight exception of the size, the pad was ideal for the higher DPI mice we tested on it. The surface is like ice, and the mice were like little ice-skaters dancing all over over it. The rubber base kept the pad firmly fixed to our desk and the ability to flip the pad over to change the emblem was a nice touch, albeit a little nerdy.
The lower comfort levels the pad provided and the very hefty price tag of £44.99 are the only niggles we have with this mouse pad, but with the former point being down to preference, it just leaves us with the large hole in your wallet this mouse pad will create. Sure it’s a decent performing mouse pad and is Star Wars branded, but is it worth the extra cost? We’ll let you decided that one.
So, considering the points above, is the Razer SW:TOR Edition mouse pad award worthy? Well, as exciting as mouse pads may be (cough), we don’t think we’ll be slapping one on this mouse pad, and this isn’t because we think it is bad, but because we don’t really find mouse pads all that thrilling, so unless something innovative comes along, don’t expect many mouse pads to get any awards from us. We do regard the mouse pad highly, as it has exceptional performance, but it is just lacking something special for us to give it an award.
