We have had a couple very interesting days full of speculations about Rockstar and whether a new Red Dead game was on the way. First Rockstar changed all their social media pages to a red icon and the following day we got a background teaser image – both hinting a new game in the series being on the way. But those were just speculations, at least until now. A short time ago, Rockstar posted the official confirmation as seen above and Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the way.
We will have to wait a little time to play it tho as it is planned for Fall 2017 which is in about a year’s time. With that kind of time frame, we can assume that the development is well underway already. That statement is further aided by the fact that the first trailer for the game will be presented this Thursday, October 20th at 11AM EST (15:00 UK time, 16:00 Central Europe).
The bad news in all of this is that we PC players don’t get to enjoy this game, at least not in the first round. It has only been announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at this time. But as it was with Grand Theft Auto V, PC users might get their version when Rockstar is done milking the console players of their money.
As for the first official quote what the game is about, we got this information: “An epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland, the game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
